Preparing to film:
So this class is an easy class but a little time consuming so its hard if you have poor time management skills (me.) Most of the challenge for me so far is actually sitting down and writing this blog because I'm more of a "general idea/ go for it" person. I feel like my group just works because Bry made the storyboard (the artist,) Mal gave most of the ideas (the visionary,) and I plan on being the main actor or director or just the most hands-on person in general.
Actors: Me- plays the grunge/y2k girl
Bry- plays the preppy/popular girl
Mal- plays the nerd/girl-next-door girl
We'll probably have other actors but in the background or extras or something.
Costumes:

Me- lots of dark colors and an overall dark aesthetic. (Blacks, reds, grays etc.) I have a lot of these pieces of clothes in my wardrobe already but the plan is to accentuate them.
Bry- light colors and a softer aesthetic. (Whites, light pinks, yellows, etc.) We're going for a 'Cher from Clueless' or 'Claire in The Breakfast Club.' Skirts, cute tops, feminine accessories.

Mal- neutral colors that match with most and a chill/smart aesthetic. (Beiges, grays, whites, etc.) For the nerd, I was thinking some sweater vests, dress pants or skirts, or blazers- anything that looks remotely 'nerdy.'
Props: We're going for an early 2000's/y2k vibe and aesthetic so we'll try to incorporate as much nostalgic items and ideas as we can but honestly it seems hard and too expensive to stick to such and iconic and vintage time period. I have an old iPod and iPhone, some retro headphones, and a room that my character would be in so we'll probably use that and call it a day.
Locations: The only two locations that I know we are probably going to use are my room for my characters room and the hill at C.B. Smith park for one of the ending shots.
Dates and times: For filming, we'll probably do it sometime within February or March and shoot it at the golden hour (the time right before sunset.) For the movie, we want it to be set in the early 2000's but that seems pretty complicated and difficult so I don't know what we're going to do with that.
Scripts: We don't have an official script yet but were working on it. Honestly, if this was a movie that I had to shoot by myself, the I would probably have a very vague idea of what I want and come up with a script on the spot. However, I have responsible partners so i know well have a solid script by the time we need to start filming.
Film equipment: We'll probably use out phone cameras and other cameras that we already have but I wanted a retro-looking movie/aesthetic so I was thinking of wither buying a cheap kids camera off of amazon for like $50-60 or just putting filters over our shots. If we really need a quality camera, we'll probably ask our teacher for some equipment that's lying around the school somewhere.
That's what we have so far but i can already tell that I'm going to like our project solely based off of how much effort and thought we've put into this.
