 Hello! My name is Anais Marcos and I'm in my junior year. I wanted to take media studies this year because I was interested in the topics that it covered and what I thought it would be. From the run-down, it seemed pretty self-explanatory so I think that I can do this class easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. I've always been interested in movies or stories, (because film is such a pretentious word) but I wanted to take this class to further my knowledge and hopefully pick up some key elements that could be useful in my future.

As for me and my interests, I like music, art, and all that nonsense (so this class is right up my alley.) I'm especially fond of rock music- classic rock, hard rock, hair metal, 70s, 80s, 90s, etc. My favorite band is called Greta Van Fleet and they play blues rock, or just more spiritual-hippie-hard rock music. Music like this ahs been a huge inspiration for me, so I play guitar and bass. I also enjoy spending time in nature, mainly the beach or ocean, but also sometimes in the forest or woods when my family occasionally goes up to Tennessee. I love horror movies with a passion. There's just nothing like watching something so disgusting and terrifying yet wanting to go back an watch it again. Nothing. My favorite director of all time has got to be Ari Aster. He made the movies Hereditary and Midsommar and let me tell you those movies are definitely worth watching. 10/10s all around. 

I've got 2 siblings, both of who are younger than me. My little brother Tristan is in 8th grade at Glades Middle along with my sister Sascha, whos starting there in 6th grade. Don't get me wrong, I love my family- but I've never met ANYONE who I've hated so much but yet still love. Family- can't live with them, can't live without them. My mother is an elementary school teacher down at Dolphin Bay (she teaches 4th grade) and my father works in IT as a manager.

I'm excited for this class and this year. Summer didnt really feel like summer, it felt like a two-week long break, but now we're back and I'm glad to see my friends again.
